NORRISTOWN Norristown Area School District and Pottstown School District spent the day providing 10 meals to all of their students helping to alleviate the strain of school closures. 
 

Norristown Area School District was able to served 7000 meals, and Pottstown School District served roughly 8000 meals. Pick-up sites in both districts were mixed between walk-up and drive-thru options ensuring the safety of the children and the workers. 
 

“During this difficult time, it is inspiring to see so many public servants work to ensure that our children had the necessary and nutritious meals they depend on during forced COVID-19 school closures, Rep. Dean said. “Thank you Gov. Wolf, Superintendent Dormer, School Board President Shae Ashe, and the other members of my office that worked so hard to ensure we could get workers in these schools to prepare and serve these bagged meals.  
 

Each meal bag contained ten meals five breakfasts and lunches giving each child meals for the week. Students were requested to consume the meals at home.
 

The next meal pickup date will be March 25, 2020 for both Norristown Area School District and Pottstown School District.
