Glenside, PA - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced two grants totaling $7,124,245 in funding the acquisition, demolition and associated management costs of 19 properties located in Collegeville, Pa, within the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) as a result of Hurricane Ida.
“This long-anticipated funding is crucial for the families displaced by Hurricane Ida,” Rep. Dean said. “And while there are additional applications for acquisition being processed, I am thrilled for the families in Collegeville Borough who can now move forward with plans for their future. I am delighted that my office was able to work with FEMA to secure these funds and look forward to continuing our advocacy on behalf of all those effected by Hurricane Ida.”
FEMA obligates funding for these projects directly to the Commonwealth who will then be tasked with supplying the funds to the recipients.
The acquired land will be deed restricted as open/green space in perpetuity for the conservation of natural floodplain functions. This award is pursuant to the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act
